Shelby chose to become an Occupational Therapist because she always wanted to work in a profession that allows everyone the chance to live their life to the fullest capacity in their everyday routines. She has a passion for pediatric care in giving aid and assistance to children to help them function in their daily lives. She strives to give them the tools and skills they need to gain independence as they grow into adulthood. She values the playfulness and creativity aspect of working in pediatric care and establishing therapeutic relationships with families. She is a new graduate with a history of working with children in outpatient and school-based settings with diagnoses ranging from Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Gait Abnormalities, Sensory Processing Disorders, and Down Syndrome.
When she is not at work, Shelby is usually outdoors; at the beach or pool, playing soccer or walking her two dogs- Emma and Luna. She enjoys traveling with her boyfriend and spending time with friends and family.
