Brooke chose to be an occupational therapist because she always had a passion for helping those with disabilities and those who are underserved in the community. Her mom has been in the healthcare field and is actually the one who presented this field of occupation to her when she was in high school. Ever since then, Brooke knew that being an OT was the career for her. Brooke loves the pediatric world of OT because of the progress that is seen with little minds, the connections made with families and because it gives her an opportunity to use her creative, fun, passionate personality through her work. Due to her diverse OT background, she has experience with various diagnoses however she is extra passionate about those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder and Downs Syndrome. A goal of hers is to open a center specifically designed for those with ASD and to raise a service dog to utilize in therapy.
When she’s not at work she loves to spend her free time enjoying the beautiful Florida weather. She’s out on the water, at the beach, fishing or hanging out with friends or family.
